How does it work?

There are 3 filters - the first lets the water pass through trapping heavy particulates and any discolourations. The second filter removes chlorine, volatile organic compounds, chlorinated hydrocarbons and organic impurities whilst acting as mechanical filter for particulate reduction. And finally the water passes through the third filter which is the UV part of the unit. A UV light shines powerfully as the water passes along the unit, destroying the cell DNA (or RNA in the case of viruses) making the micro organisms inactive. This process of disinfection is a positive alternative to using environmentally harmful chemicals.

The UV range is effective against Germs, Bacteria, Viruses, Micro - organisms Pathogens Cryptosporidium Giardia choline.

How long will it last?

The UV clear water system is of the highest quality and if maintained correctly* it is designed to give you a life time of trouble free operation and quality clear water.

The cost of installing a UV clear water system is less than you would pay to buy 4 litres of drinking water a day. The UV unit runs on 18 or 40 watts which is less than it takes to power an ordinary light bulb.
